The five-minute writer

I ordered a book from Amazon yesterday and it arrived this morning. (Actually, I ordered two but I knew I would have to wait a few days for the second.)

Today’s delivery is called ‘The five-minute writer’ by Margret Geraghty and comprises examples and exercises to stimulate just five minutes writing a day. I’ve been dipping into it and it looks promising, though being loquacious I cannot imagine restricting myself to five minutes.

I should never suffer from writer’s block again . . . yes, and pigs might fly!

Sounds good! I do wonder if there is anything new under the sun though as far as writing inspiration. I haven't seen anything at all 'out there' of late that begs me to buy it. I do hope you continue to find it useful.

I used to buy painting books (and gardening books) as well as writing books. I think they are great ... time wasters (for me). Once I resolved to never buy another painting book again but to concentrate on painting. Amazing! But some writing books are very inspirational.

Please post us the best prompts/exercises you discover.

Isn't it great news about Ratty? It hasn't really sunk in that he is back.

Best wishes Isabel x

Mary, my problem is that I tend to trust to osmosis to access the information!! Really must READ this one . . . properly!:-)
Sarah, thank you. It's like going back to school.
Isabel, you may depend upon it that various more than usually odd scribblings will appear on my blog.
Jane, I hope it won't turn out to be a damp squib.

I've turned off comment moderation, as promised in my previous post, but there's NO indication on my dashboard that anyone has left a comment so I have to refer to the post list. That's not a hardship but it's irritating. However, I will persevere . . .

Ahh!! I've just seen that I can find out from 'Recent Comments' in my side bar. Dear me, if I'm this slow now whatever shall I be like in my dotage??
